Each year, the Friends support a major initiative to significantly expand the role or services of the organization. The 2017 goal is to raise matching funds for a grant from Friends of Southwest D.C. to fund a seminar series focused on senior health and wellness. The 35-session series will be presented over the course of 12 months and will be open to the public. Presenters will include George Washington University Hospital, Georgetown Home Care, Georgetown University Hospital, Safeway Pharmacy, Sibley Senior Association, Smile Beautiful Dental, and many others. Contributors of $250 or more will be acknowledged in the September 2017 edition of 'The Southwester' neighborhood newspaper,* on our website, in the print edition of our 2017 Annual Report, and at our annual meeting.
