This activity is limited to Members, Friends of Waterfront Village Donors (non-Member Friends, please call 202-656-1834 to book or email, and their guests. Ask about our Companion (formerly Social) memberships, allowing a friend to join you in a full year of Village fun for just $50 at Member pricing.

"Baltimore in the Gilded" age includes approximately 1 mile of walking, and public transit travel during peak times on our return to Washington. Contact the Village if you would like to participate in the trip without the walking tour, as all other components of the trip are ADA compliant.

10:00 am is the meet-up time at Union Station for our 10:30 am departure. Come to Gate C to the MARC Departure Lounge after purchasing your MARC ticket, which is $8 round trip from an Amtrak agent. This special 50% discounted ticket is not available from a kiosk or online. You may also buy your ticket on the train for a $5 service fee. Private car transportation door-to-door can be arranged for $49 per person round trip with 3 persons sharing.

Lunch will be a la carte menu service and separate checks will be provided.

Participation fee covers our walking tour by Baltimore Heritage; all other costs of the trip will be paid by participants.
"Baltimore in the Gilded Age" will start with an arrival in the city's restored Beaux Arts Pennsylvania Station after a scenic ride from Washington on a double-decker MARC train. Our walking tour will include historic homes and public buildings of the 19th and early 20th century, including the George Peabody Library, the Walters Museum, and the Garret Mansion (Engineers Club).  Lunch will be in the Owl Bar at the former Belvedere Hotel, boasting some of the most stunning Edwardian interiors on the East Coast.
